Legal age & ID policy

In Australia, the minimum age to purchase or possess any nicotine vaping product is 18 years. iget express age-verifies every order at checkout using date of birth and address validation, and our couriers may request a valid government-issued photo ID on delivery. Orders that fail age verification are cancelled and refunded in full. Knowingly purchasing a nicotine vape on behalf of a minor is illegal.

Who should not vape

  • Anyone under the age of 18.
  • People who have never smoked or have already quit nicotine.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women, or anyone planning pregnancy.
  • People with heart conditions, high blood pressure, or diabetes.
  • People on medication for depression or asthma.
  • Anyone with a known allergy to nicotine, propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin.

Safe storage & disposal

Store all IGET devices upright at room temperature (15–25°C), away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. Keep them well out of reach of children and pets — nicotine salt e-liquid at 50mg/mL is toxic if swallowed. Never charge a device unattended overnight. When the device is empty, drop it at a council e-waste or battery recycling point — the embedded lithium battery should never go in household rubbish.

In an emergency

If a child or pet swallows e-liquid or chews a device, call the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 immediately, or dial 000 for life-threatening emergencies. If you want help quitting nicotine entirely, talk to your GP or call Quitline 13 7848.

Common Questions

18+ Vaping FAQ

What is the legal age to buy a nicotine vape in Australia?

You must be 18 years or older to purchase any nicotine vaping product anywhere in Australia, including all IGET disposables sold by iget express. Supplying a nicotine vape to a minor is a criminal offence in every Australian state and territory.

How does iget express verify my age?

Every order on iget express is age-verified at checkout. We use customer-supplied date of birth plus address validation and reserve the right to request a valid government-issued photo ID before dispatch or on delivery. Orders that cannot be age-verified are cancelled and refunded.

Can someone else accept my vape delivery if I'm not home?

Only an adult (18+) at the delivery address can accept the parcel. Couriers may request ID on handover. We do not authorise unattended drop-off for nicotine vape orders.

Is vaping a safe alternative to smoking?

Nicotine vapes are intended as a harm-reduction tool for current adult smokers, not as a starting product for non-smokers or young people. Vaping is not risk-free and contains highly addictive nicotine. If you do not currently smoke, do not vape. If you want to quit nicotine entirely, talk to your GP or call Quitline 13 7848.

Who should never use a 50mg/mL nicotine vape?

Do not use nicotine vapes if you are under 18, pregnant, breastfeeding, planning pregnancy, have a heart condition, high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, or are taking medication for depression. Nicotine is a stimulant and a toxin — it can interact with medications and worsen underlying health conditions.

How do I store and dispose of a nicotine vape safely?

Store devices upright at room temperature, away from heat, sunlight, and moisture, and well out of reach of children and pets — nicotine is toxic if swallowed. When the device is empty, drop it at an e-waste or battery recycling point rather than household rubbish; the lithium battery inside is a fire risk in landfill.

What should I do if a child swallows e-liquid or chews a vape?

Call the Australian Poisons Information Centre immediately on 13 11 26, or dial 000 in an emergency. Even a small amount of 50mg/mL nicotine salt e-liquid can be dangerous to a child. Keep all vaping products locked away from children at all times.
